Indo-Italian is a popular choice with visitors for its mix of cuisines.
Alongside a choice of pasta dishes, pizza and risotto you’ll find a selection
of tasty Indian mains including Butter Chicken, Tandoori Spiced Lamb and
Paneer Tikka Masala. If you’re travelling as a group, this is an easy way to
keep everyone happy.
VOX Brasserie & Bar is located within the Hilton Reykjavik Nordica but
there’s no requirement to be a guest to dine here. Upscale and
sophisticated, it’s the ideal spot if you’re looking to treat a special
someone. You might order the Icelandic set menu, which features
langoustine soup, fillet of lamb or Arctic char, and a delicious lemon and
skyr dessert.
Yndisauki opened in 2004 and is still a local favourite. It’s a five minute
drive or twenty minute walk from the hotel. It offers a popular brunch
menu – a vegan version is available –with dishes such as bacon and eggs,
American-style pancakes and waffles. Their main menu is packed with
crowd pleasers such as chilli con carne, burgers, piri piri chicken and
vegetable lasagne.
The food hall comes to the suburbs at Mathöll Höfða, and the food served
here rivals anything you’d find downtown. Order Skipperinn’s scrumptious
fish and chips, flavourful Mexican food from Culiacan and the taste of
India at Tandoori Palace, not to mention delicious pizzas and burgers. It’s
a great place to bring a group of friends.
If you’re looking for somewhere suitable for a casual lunch, then Lemon’s
branch on Suðurlandsbraut might fit the bill. Offering ample parking close
by, this place offers an extensive menu of sandwiches, smoothies and
protein shakes. Vegetarians and vegans are well catered for and there are
plenty of healthy options available.

If you’re simply looking for fast food, then there are numerous options
within a very short distance of Oddsson Midtown. For instance, you’ll find
international chains KFC and Subway just half a kilometre from the hotel,
while Icelandic bakery Brauð & Co has a branch close by. If you crave
pizza, there are a couple of takeaway options in the form of Dominos just
up the road and Pizzan Fellsmúla in the parade opposite. Dirty Burger &
Ribs is similarly steps from the hotel.
We also want to make a special mention of Kringlan, one of Reykjavik’s
top shopping malls, which is just a three minute drive or fifteen minute
walk from ODDSSON Midtown. Like all modern retail centres, it houses
plenty of places to eat too. There’s a food court featuring popular brands
such as Yuzu Burger, Mi Bowls, Flatey Pizza, Subway and Sbarro. If you
just want coffee, try local chain Te og Kaffi. Meanwhile for something more
substantial, book a table at Finnsson Bistro.
